ICE is in my Hometown (Orlando)
ICE executed another person in Minnesota, this time a VA Doctor, Alex Pretti. They maced him, held him down, and shot him. He was not violent. He was helping others just before they killed him. There's video of the incident, but of course, they're still lying about why they shot at him 10 times in 5 seconds. They also abducted and imprisoned several witnesses to this murder.
I've also seen video from the Dilly Detention Center in Texas, where they're keeping Liam Ramos, the 5-year old abducted by ICE in Minneapolis. From the outside, women and children can be heard crying, screaming, and chanting "Let Us Out."
ICE is publicly executing people, abducting small children, and lying about it despite video proof of what was done, and the House just voted to continue funding them. Cowards. Traitors. Capitulators. Collaborators. Democrats of the Senate say they won't go with it. I hope they stick to their words.
Meanwhile, ICE is also in my hometown now (Orlando, FL). They've apparently filled several hotels and are touring a warehouse with intentions to start a detention center there. Some months ago, Ron Desantis apparently forced multiple government officials, including Orange County Mayor Jerry Demmings, to either give permission for ICE to come or be removed from their positions. Demmings stated explicitly that he signed the paperwork under protest and extreme duress.
The local news is talking about the fact that they're here, which I really appreciate. Locals are sharing links to a couple ICE tracking sites. Some protesters have already been arrested. There were more protesters yesterday, walking near the shopping center that contains the one Chick-fil-a that opened on a Sunday to feed the people donating blood to those who were attacked at Pulse in 2016.
Meanwhile, ICE is all over Orlando, every corner of it. ICE is on International Drive and in Kissimmee out by Disney, ICE is at the Altamonte Mall, ICE is in Pine Hills, ICE is at our Colleges, ICE is at gas stations, ICE is snatching people outside of Walmart (they’ve also been seen at Costco and near Aldi), ICE is holding people in prison for transfer.
The night before last, when the house was silent, I heard not-too-distant sirens.
I’m too angry to be afraid.
